“We” is a magic number
How do you put a name on an adventure you’ve not yet started? That’s the conundrum we faced in trying to pick out a name for a family website that might somehow summarize the year we have ahead.
Hence the “Living Entoto” branding. Entoto (or maybe “in total” to some ears) is a real place with real stories to be told. Just north of Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa. The highest peak - Mount Entoto - stands at 3200 meters (or 10,500 feet) among a range of green highland hills of the same name. It was home to at least one emperor prior to Addis Ababa (meaning “New Flower”) becoming the capital in the 19th Century.
We have so much to learn. And we three plan to do so together. As we thought about what to call our adventure, Eric came up with a grammatical bastard offspring of De La Soul’s “Three Feet High and Rising” and the Schoolhouse Rock masterstroke “Three is a Magic Number"“ to come up with this post’s title. Because it’s true. The three of us doing this adventure together is a magical combination of hopes, dreams and energy. We three are in this together. Or, in phrasing I’ve tried to convince others is poetic for the purposes of summary, “We” is a magic number. Yes it is.
