Cross-promoting next week's "Write Your Success Story" class

Part of digging into life as an ex-pat in Addis means saying “yes” to things. Parties, group outings, meetings of all shapes and sizes - if the city’s not shut down because of either stress or chaotic normalcy, you need to get out there and work it. Which is in part why I agreed to lead a monthly meeting with a wonderful local professional group (Here We Are Ethiopia). My effort’s meant to encourage people to get writing and craft more compelling personal narratives. Even the most productive among us can benefit from a subtle kick in the ol’ notebook. Consider this my shameless self-promotion for this meeting - next Thursday from 8:30 to 11am @ the Radisson Blu here in Addis. There’s a nominal fee to cover the cost of the fancy digs and tasty morning vittles. I’ll even offer some small take-home bribes to get folks writing. The broad intent is to suggest a host of resources to keep the ball rolling thereafter for professionals aiming to better tell their own stories. It should be a hoot and this group of ex-pats has truly welcomed me warmly in the past few months. This is my way of giving something back.

What a WeWork office looks like back in Seattle. “We’reNotWorking,” is more like it.

You can find the formal pitch on Here We Are Ethiopia’s Facebook group page. Or give me a shout if you want to check it out. For those not here in Addis, I’m exploring the best way to serve things up after next Thursday. Live is still better than Memorex (whoa, I just dated myself with that pre-Gen X reference). Ciao.
